The New Year….

“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. ” – Albert Einstein

Now that 2010 is over, what are you going to different in the coming year for your business?

What did your business do right last year and what can you improve upon in the coming 12 months?  Did last year meet or exceed your expectations or did you fall a bit short?

Did you acquire any new product capabilities last year? If so how do you plan to tell your existing customers about the new products that you now offer. How do you get and keep new customers?

Is your old process no longer cost effective or no longer in demand? What do you think your customers want or need from the items you now offer? Can you not afford to add new technologies and still keep up with your competition?

Questions…Questions…Questions!!!!

Businesses are like people because if you do not evolve your business then it will stagnate and may even go extinct!

Here are some ideas to help you in the coming months to supplement what you are already doing to help evolve and grow your business and income.

Adding different items to your stock, like rhinestones, could bring in new customers!

1.)    If you are a garment decorator – Think about adding another technology like sublimation, ink jet transfer, heat transfer (vinyl, flock, puff, glitter, reflective, glow-in-the-dark, etc.), or add rhinestones so your customers can have that extra “bling.”

2.)    If you sell personalized products with sublimation – You already have a heat press so offer your customers cotton transfers easily by adding a pigment printer. Think also about adding a cutter for vinyl transfers.

3.)    If you are a sign company – You probably already have a cad cutter so by adding a heat press you can easily add vinyl heat transfer for garment decoration. If you have a solvent printer then there are some great print and cut products that you can use to start decorating garments.

4.)    If your business is booming – Think about going large with a wide format printer so you can not only increase your production, but save up to 80% of your consumable costs (for sublimation).

Large format sublimation supplies can allow you to expand your business!

By adding a large heat press you can also offer overall garment decoration.

These are just a few ideas and, since your know your business better than anyone else, what do you think you need in terms of production capability or marketing?
