Finding and Using Online Graphics

Whether you’re a seasoned graphic designer or a newbie to sublimation and heat transfer, everyone could use some help creating an image or design from time to time. Thankfully, the internet is full of options for everyone in this regard.

There are many free vector and clip art websites. These websites are great and offer full images or just ideas for inspiration. It’s important to double-check the license of the image you want to use: some images can be utilized only for personal use; others can be used for commercial purposes. It’s important to pay attention to the small print to ensure that you’re not using an image illegally.

The following are some of my personal favorite free vector websites:

Dryicons.com
Vectoropenstock.com
Freevectors.net
123freevectors.com

You also have the choice to buy high quality photographs, clip art and vectors from various stock websites. These websites give you the option to purchase professionally created images with the license already intact. These are called “royalty-free” images, meaning that, even though the image is the property of someone else, you don’t have to pay a royalty every time you use the image. When you “purchase” these images, you are basically purchasing the right to use the image without infringing on the image’s copyright.

So, it’s a win-lose situation. You have a wider variety and higher quality of images to choose from, but you have to pay to use them. Here are some of the most popular stock image websites:

Shutterstock.com
Istockphoto.com
Crestock.com
Fotolia.com

Unisub offers free graphics for many different templates!

You can also get the best of both worlds by subscribing to Unisub’s free graphics website, myugx.com. Not only does this website offer hundreds of free graphics for you to use, but also has them already designed within the templates of many of our most popular blanks. You can register for this opportunity through our website by clicking here.

Regardless of which route you choose to take, these sites can be incredibly helpful in creating professional designs, whether you use the entire image or merely use it for inspiration.
