Sublimating a mug Using sublimation to imprint images onto any one of our many sublimation-compatible mugs is an easy way to create personalized drinkware! Download the template that corresponds with the mug size you are using . Our entire line of mugs feature free template downloads on the product pages. Create your image using the corresponding template. Print the image using a sublimation printer, with sublimation ink and sublimation paper. Carefully tape the image around the mug using thermal tape. Be careful not to tape the edges of the image too close to the handles of the mug, as it may not receive as much heat or pressure as the rest of the image. The pressing time and temperature will vary depending on the mug press that you are using. Our Mug King mug press is set to an idle temperature of 280 degrees F. Once it reaches the idle temperature, place the mug inside and allow the press to heat up to 365 degrees F. When the mug press reaches 365 degrees F, the timer should be set to countdown from 60 seconds. The mug press will initially drop in temperature when the mug is inserted, since the mug is much cooler than the heating element. At the end of the pressing cycle, remove the mug from the mug press and immediately remove the sublimation paper. And now your mug is complete! Our sublimation mugs are perfect for businesses, parties, promotional items and much, much more.
